Our Management Committee is similar to a board of trustees - it is responsible for making sure the farm is running well and fulfilling its mission. Our Management Committee has a positive, collaborative and caring ethos.

  • Bi-monthly meetings (six per year) taking place in the evening on a Tuesday or Wednesday, with an online attendance option available
  • Regular collaboration with staff members and project oversight responsibilities
  • Expectation to attend our Annual Members' Meeting on the farm in person

Please read more about how the committee works, and what is expected of the committee members here: SCF: Management Committee: Introduction and Expectations.

We’re seeking an experienced Fundraising professional to join our Management Committee.

Over the past decade, we’ve built a thriving community enterprise delivering fresh, organic produce to hundreds of households each week. While our customers love our products and our margins are strong, we’re doing many things for the community and environment that aren't currently financially viable.

To continue making a positive impact, we need external expertise to guide our fundraising strategy.

  • Contribute to strategic direction and governance oversight
  • Provide expertise in fundraising initiatives and their strategic alignment
  • Support and mentor farm staff in fundraising activities
  • Attend and participate in bi-monthly committee meetings
  • Oversee specific projects and report progress to the committee
  • Contribute approximately six hours each month to committee work
  • Serve a three-year term on the committee

  • In-depth expertise in grant fundraising (technical ability, and high-level strategy and governance)
  • Broad experience of direct and indirect fundraising
  • Good understanding of the UK funding landscape (ideally for our activities: community, health, food, farming, environment)
  • Experience in impact measurement, evaluation and reporting (not essential)
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proactive approach to responsibilities
  • Ability to build relationships based on trust, collaboration and empathy
  • Interest in sustainable food production
